Rock and roll heroes - Mark Free aka Marcie Free

I remember back in 1993 when I went to see Mark Free perform a show of songs from the classic albums King Kobra - Ready to strike, Signal - Loud and clear and Unruly Child.
Little did I know that Mark would become a woman 2 years later, but what a concert it was where the small crowd went crazy and sang along to songs like "Who cries now", "Arms of a stranger" and "Iron eagle" etc.

The 1995 album Tormented had an awful album cover and it was released under his new female name Marcie Free which probably was a reason for the poor sales. Because this is nothing else than a 2nd Unruly Child album with all the original members playing and Marcie is singing just super. Truly a lost and forgotten piece of work.

Three more albums that contains lots of good stuff are King Kobra´s 2nd album "Thrill of a lifetime", Mark´s solo album "Long way from love" and the new Unruly Child album "Worlds collide" that will be out in October. He could play a show of songs entirely from these albums and his fans would be more than pleased.

The Black Roses Soundtrack from 1988 featured 4 songs with Mark Free on lead vocals with the band Black Roses, the songs are more hard rocking and not as good as the King Kobra albums but one song, "Paradise" is an AOR killer. Worth having just for that song.
